Does anyone know who he is?? I've not seen any follow up yet on it as I have been away from the computer for a few days. (funeral, birthday, moving the widow, hot water tank broke, starter in truck broke.......)

Thanks for any info and hopefully this doesn't turn into controversey!! hmmm, is that how that is spelled!! haha

I'm only here to have fun, learn, and practice my Irish. My translations may not be exactly what you request, or even correct, but you certainly don't have to use them. Feel free to get a 2nd, 6th, or 100th different opion.

Interestingly enough, if you look at illustrations from the American Civil War era, Irishmen were portrayed as chimpanzee looking drunkards. I think it was because America was a mostly protestant nation and they wanted to show the Irish immigrant as an uneducated, intoxicated ape. :?

one thing that got me extremely fired up was when the British decided to use so-called "irish tactics", the force they use to kill many of our countrymen, on the indians...my history teacher, a scot who spent a year in college there, and i almost had a confrontation about elizabeth 1, may she burn in hell, and cromwell, he already is burning as he is satan  , were right in suppressing the irish like they did...
ALWAYS get a second opinion on anything I, or anyone else, attempt to translate or transliterate.
I speak Connacht Irish, so some things I write, translate, or transliterate may be non-standard.
