It's always been that way. Too bad...not much I can do about it, or would if I could! People are too quick to stereotype, I think. It's just something we have to deal with...it's never going to change. Look at the Irish stereotypes we run into all the time from visitors here...people wanting "Fighting Irish," or "The Luck of the Irish" or (God help us! Hide your eyes, Ailill!) "Top o' the mornin'."
Bottom line, people are people, no matter where they come from.
