Dia duit a Bhríd le smál,
Terra in Latin = (ae) f. [earth , land, ground, soil; a country, land, region]; 'orbis terrarum', [the whole world].
So, the word in Irish for that is Talamh. It's got exactly the same meaning and usage.
Pronounced "THOL-uv"
Joy is Áthas (pron AW-huss), you could also use a favourite word of mine:
Gliondar (GLIND-thur) which is a kind of wide-eyed joy.
There's also "lúcháir" (LOO-HAWIR), "ríméad" (REE-MAYDTH) and "gairdeas" (GAR-JUS) in the dictionary for Joy.
hope this helps,
Slán,
Ailill.
