I am trying to find the name for grandmother and grandfather and the pronunciation. Shortened nicknames would be fine. :lol:

Grandmother = Seanmháthair (SHAN-wah-her)
Granny = Mamó (MAM-oh...I think)

Grandfather = Seanathair (SHAN-uh-her)
Grandad = Daideo (DAJ-oh...I think)

grandmother --- seanmháthair (SHAN-wah-hur)

grandma --- mamó (muh-MOH)

grandfather --- seanathair (SHAN-uh-hur)

grandpa --- daideo (DUH-joh)

My pronunciations may not, and most probably are not, correct, so wait for some of the good speakers/experts to check in on this tomorrow, or later tonight. ;D

And I think I'd stick with her pronunciations, until Oisín gets here!! :ja:

I'd take any pronunciation I offer with a pound or two of salt.

Well, I was kinda trying to say that you are more advanced that I am in that section, but the author can take mine with an extra 10lbs of salt, sand, and gravel!! :lach:
