I will soon become a Grandfather and would like to be be addressed by the Irish Gaelic translation for Grandpa and/or Grandfather.

No, Méabh's got it right, it would be a mispelling with the fada. :wink:

"seanathair" is kind of like "SHAN-uh-her" (the "A" is like the "a" in "hat") Actually, that final "r" is more like a "zh" sound, but I'm not not quite sure how to write it.

I think that pronunciation is accurate, what's with the "zh" sound? Probably more like a "d" sound. Rolling the r.

No...it's not a rolled r (a tipped r at best, but it's harder than that). It really is more like a "zh" or "dzh."
