I'm having trouble finding "riu" or "ru"...are you sure it's not "téigh abhaile a rún?" (that would be "go home, love").

If that's the case, the only fadas are over the "e" in téigh and over the "u" in "rún."

thanks for all your help. this is bothering me because the lyrics we had in class used 'teigh.' i was going to get a tattoo of it, but i dont want to if that's wrong. man oh man.

With all respects I cannot get my head around the idea that people want to get Tattoos of words/ phrases which they have no connection with.

Why dont people get tattoos of concepts they feel comfortable wth in terms of identifying themselves -as people with their own strong identity
and in a language which they comprehend.

Rather than trying to make a pseudo leap into Navaho Native American, Aboriginal original Australian, or into the Celtic Mist.

Just beats me.

So is "riú" a regional word? I've never seen it, and can't find it in my dictionary.
