As a learner of Scots Gaelic myself I would strongly recommend anyone who is having a go at a new language to start with SOUND and not just with written phonetics. Otherwise you will almost certainly end up with a dialect known only to yourself (and to maybe your dog)! - I've been there!

I have just been checking out these free online beginners' lessons -

"Giota Beag" (Irish course from the North) -

"Beag air Bheag" (Scots Gaelic course) -

I've always heard very good things about the Giota Beag course :zustimm:

And you are right with audio - it's at least 5 times easier to imprint something on your subconscious if you hear it as well as seeing it...

I just dashed over to have a peek at this site - it is fabulous! Vocabulary is great, but hearing it in conversation pulls it all together.

Go raibh maith agat! :tanz:

Great stuff there. Interactive is the key. :zustimm:
