Dear friends I hope you can help me. I am translating an English fantasy novel into Italian but there is a word I cannot find. On the internet I found it associated with irish sites that I can't understand, because they are only in Irish gaelic. The word is: reitoir/ reytoir. The reference sentece is:
Austra's blue eyes went as round as gold reytoirs.
It seems that the word reitoir is often associated with Hurling or Footblall. Please Help me

well according to the definitions I have here in the dictionary - your sentence about the eyes makes no sense at all

réiteoir -
1. Arbitrator, conciliator, peacemaker
2. Sports: Referee
3. (device) Cleaner

there are no words with rey- in Irish, so it must be either some made up word or something obscure in English
