Hi. A friend of mine is getting married and she wants to play a song sung by Annie Ebrel at her wedding which I think is in Gaelic. The problem is, we can't find a translation for the lyrics and can't determine whether it would be appropriate for the occasion. If somebody could read the following lyrics and give us an idea of what it is about it would really, really help us. Thanks in advance.

This doesn't look at all like Gaelic to me . . . I would have thought something related to French, because of the "Bonjour" at the beginning of a few verses (or is that the refrain?)

That was my initial thought as well but I ran it through several online translation engines for french->english and none of them could translate it.

Redwolf, if it is Breton, is there somewhere I can look to find out its meaning?

What I would try is first Google on the artist's name and see if you can come up with a website...often they will have lyrics with translations.

Failing that, try Googling on the title. If it's a traditional tune, that has a good chance of turning up something.

I'm fairly sure it's Breton, or perhaps a mixture of Breton and French. It's definitely not Irish.
