In healthcare EVERYONE must take an active role in their own care. Know what your illnesses are, know what medications you are taking and WHY and do NOT just blindly sit there and "do what the doctor says" without researching the ailment.
If you come up against a doctor who gets p*ssed off that you are asking questions and want explanations, then I am sorry to say, that doc either has the God complex and does not want you messing it up, or the doc just doesn't know what he/she is doing. Fire him/her and get a doc you can communicate with!
