I am really interested in learning both Irish Gaelic and Scots gaelic...is there anyone who can help me out with some Scots gaelic, because obviously i've got all the help i need with irish around here, haha.

There are some people here who have Scottish Gaelic, so if you have a particular translation in mind, they may be able to help. As far as learning materials and such go, however, other than the "Teach Yourself Gaelic" package that I know is available at Borders, Amazon, and other such places, I'm not sure what resources are out there. One thing that may be useful to you in your searching...if the title just says "Gaelic," it's almost certainly Scottish Gaelic. Irish Gaelic will generally be referred to as "Irish."

Theres a good CD ROm available from Eurotalk for Scottish Gaelic - very easy to use and good fun too. Try the resources on this site - www.gaelicbooks.net
And if you want to learn some Scottish Gaelic Songs, try the double CD set " Seinn o ho ro Seinn" from Gaelic Books too.- F Mackenzie and A Cormack. 40 songs sung then followed by spoken pronunciation together with a book of lyrics and translations. Also available from www.musicscotland.com |
