and my husband has now decided that he wants to give the toast in Irish.
What are the chances on getting it translated so that he can not only give it to them in print - but pronounce it --
"May you have the hindsight to know where you have been;
the foresight to know where you are going; and
the insignt to trust in each other's love".
or.....if any of you know of a more traditional Irish toast to be given by the "best man" who happens also to be the father of the groom--- we would be forever in your debt.

Giorraíonn beirt bóthar- Two people shorten a road
Bhí clog sa chill is níor bhinn clog é. Ach tháinig clog eile
'on cill is rinne clog bin den chlog san.
There was a bell in a church and it wasn't very sweet sounding.
Then another bell came along and made a sweet bell of the first one.
Beidh ár lá linn.......go luath!!
I'm a beginner. Wait for more input with my translations.

The 'CH' sound is pronounced gutterally, like ACH in German.
