Páidín,
I wish it were that simple! Unfortunately, this guy needs psychological and/or spiritual counseling, not a bullet in the head. Secondly, I'll probably never have the opportunity to meet him face to face. I reckon that without the anonymity of the Internet, he would be an entirely different person.

the need for psychological counseling is evident, even through what i have heard of the guy. and yes, people suddenly become different after the shielding that the internet gives is removed. it's uncanny at times.

Of course it's obvious and doesn't need further petition that Dónal/Oisín's Gaeilge is den céad scóth. Put what I think is worth saying is that the great thing about learning Irish is that, because learners are such an important part of the world-wide language community, that less than perfect Irish is something that gives hope rather than anything else. All these people working away day-by-day at learning the language is an inspiration. You can't slag someone for their linguistic ability. They're just at a different stage from you.
Ní bhfuair mise teachtaireacht an t-am seo ach oiread. Boo hoo.
Wonderfully said !!!!!
Dónal ... Perfection lies within each person and it is not up to anybody else to determine what that means --- it is personal. You are marvelous with your translations ... and yes, I read the post where you stated that you began this thread, not because you are feeling inferior, but for other reasons. He's not worth the energy to think about let alone use physical energy on. But you know that already. You also know that I have been around long enough to say with all honesty ---- I understand ... completely.
Take care of YOU --- Cristí

I agree totally, Oisin. In real life, he's probably just a wimpy, little punk. He could scream for help in his inferior Irish while I'm simultaneously inserting my foot into his arse!!
Beidh ár lá linn.......go luath!!
I'm a beginner. Wait for more input with my translations.
