LOL!!! I love it! "That's like...O'Kerry...duh?"

My married name never gets spelled correctly either, even when I spell it out for people, ironically. Heck, it's "Nickel"...how hard is that???

We had intended to have a boy's name and a girl's name chosen long before our Jo made an appearance (we didn't want to know what she was going to be...and bottom line, you can't be 100% certain without an amnio anyway, and no sane person's going to opt for one of those unless there's a chance of a serious problem), but I never could get Tony nailed down on a final choice for a girl until the very last moment.

We had a pregnancy "scare" about nine months ago, and that time I laid down the law..."If, God forbid, I'm really pregnant, I'm getting my Irish kid..."Seán Padraig or Sorcha Ailis, and no foolin', mister!" :lach:

Mar a duirt Seán Michael i "The Secret of Roan Inish": "Ní mise bhur n-asal, a ainmhíthe gallda. Sacaigí suas i bhur dtóin é!"

I can imagine some truly ASAP/urgent translation needs, mostly related to receiving or imparting critical information when travelling outside one's native land:

"Where is the hospital/bank/restroom?"

"I've never seen that before, Officer." Or the closely related, "I think you saw that large bill on the ground before I did, Officer. You should have it. I'm sure it didn't fall from my pocket."

"Where is the shark repellant/bear spray?"

"What are you using for contraception?"
