If you could help me, I have been searching for the history of my surname, Tripp, for quite a while. I have been able to find no records, and I was wondering if anyone here knew the general area or history of this name. All I know is that a descendant came to USA from Dublin in the 1800's. Thank You.

I found diddly on Tripp, according to Ireland.. It appears Tripp is English..
http://www.houseofnames.com/xq/asp.fami ... /Tripp.htm Go to Google and type in Tripp, England Ní bheidh Éire shaor ar síocháin choíche, agus gan an ceart, ní féidir an tsíocháin a bheith ann.

well, don't be too surprised.. Lots of English moved to Ireland I back then I think.. (Mostly the Protestants up north taking the Catholics land) but it's all good.
I'll try to sustain from my political speaking.. Ní bheidh Éire shaor ar síocháin choíche, agus gan an ceart, ní féidir an tsíocháin a bheith ann.
