Hey! I need translations for my friend's book... Thanks.....

"I'm sorry to bother you. I know you must be tired from your long journey over the last few days, but I ask you another favor."

"We are very grateful for allowing your allowing us here. What is it you ask?"

"I need one of you to transport my brother and me back to the 'Center City'."

"Wouldn't that take two?"

"No, not entirely. I shall take Straif [name] with me."
and....
"I would be glad to."

I know this is a lot, but she needs it. Thanks much!

Is oth liom a bheith ag cur isteach ort. Tá a fhios agam go gcaithfidh tú bheith tuirseach tar éis duit turas fada a dhéanamh le cúpla lá anuas, ach ní mór dom gar a iarraidh ort.

Táimid an-bhuíoch duit as cead a thabhairt dúinn bheith anseo. Cad é atá de dhíth ort?

"I need one of you to transport my brother and me back to the 'Center City'."

Teastaíonn duine agaibh uaim mo dheartháir agus mise a iompar ar ais go dtí Cathair an Láir.

"Wouldn't that take two?"

Nár mhór beirt leis sin a dhéanamh?

"No, not entirely. I shall take Straif [name] with me."

Ní hea, [not entirely?]. Tógfaidh mé Straif liom.

"I would be glad to."

Ba bhreá liom é a dhéanamh

Not confident about them all. Wait for improvements.

Tá ceann amháin agaibh de dhíth orm mo dheartháir agus mise a iompar ar ais go dtí Cathair an Láir.

Nach nglacfadh sin beirt agaibh le déanamh?

Ní ghlacfadh go hiomlán. Tógfaidh mé Straif liom.

Ba bhreá liom á dhéanamh duit.

This is not quite literal - there are several places where the English is awkward to translate directly but it gets the jist.

Well done lads

I had a look at it earlier and ran away :runningdog:

It does appear though as though from the outset -more than one person is being addressed- so oraibh etc to be used??

as in this truncated version -

and I have no idea what comes after bhur a ''h'' a ''g''??

Gabh mo leithscéal. Tá tuirse oraibh, gan amhras, tar éis bhur chúpla lae fhada ag taisteal-ach táim ag iarracht gar amháin eile oraibh

This is not the full translation- just an illustration to indicate the plural
It's a job that's never started that takes the longest to finish.

Fair point. If more than one person is being addreseed initially then see below.

Eclipse after 'bhur' so bhur gcúpla

Is oth liom a bheith ag cur isteach oraibh. Tá a fhios agam go gcaithfidh sibh bheith tuirseach tar éis an turas fada a rinne sibh cúpla lá anuas, ach gar amháin eile dé dhíth orm.

Tá ceann amháin agaibh de dhíth orm mo dheartháir agus mé féin a iompar ar ais go dtí Cathair an Láir.

Nach nglacfadh sin beirt agaibh le déanamh?

Ní ghlacfadh go hiomlán. Tógfaidh mé Straif liom.

Ba bhreá liom á dhéanamh duit.
