i am the grandson of Irish immigrants and recently my wife gave birth to our first son, Paxton. I am wanting to get a tattoo for him in the near future but wanted to double check my grandmother's translation of the following:
My dear son, may the sun shine warm on your face the rain fall soft on your fields
her translation is
Mac na páirte Go dtaitní an ghrian go bog bláth ar do chlár éadain, go dtite an bháisteach go bog mín ar do ghoirt.
she admits her gaelic is not very good as she was very young when they crossed over to the US and her mother wanted her to grow up "American" so she learned gaelic on her own as an adult. any confirmation or edits are appreciated!
Thanks

If you're addressing your son it would be better as A Mhic na páirteThe rest of it looks good, your wife has obviously done her share of the homework in Irish.
