Hi I am new to this forum
I am thinking about getting a tattoo of a bible verse in Gaelic, I was wondering if you guys would not mind helping me

Any and all help is greatly appreciated

2 Corinthians 5:7
"We walk by faith not by sight"

The other verse I am thinking about is Hebrews 11:1

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see"

Thanks

Hey :-) Welcome to the forum
I'd recommend doing a search for these on the forum as a start; I can tell you for sure, mainly in the case of the first sentence, you're not the first person to ask for these. That way you can get some older input, as well as an idea of what these would look like.
(If my Irish were better, I'd give it a shot myself, but for now this is the best suggestion I can offer  ) And certainly some of the more skilled translators will be sure to chime in!
Good luck!

Since these are direct quotes from the Bible they can be found in An Biobla Naofa which is available online

You need to look under

Tiomna Nua - New Testament

These are the titles of the Epistles in Irish

Dara Litir Naomh Pól chuig na CORANTAIGH - 2 Corinthians

An Litir Chuig na hEABHRAIGH - Hebrews

and here is the link

Thanks so much for the help I have looked through what you guys said and this is the closest thing to what I am looking for

"Ós de réir an chreidimh agus nach de réir amharc na súl a shiúlaimid", 2 Co 5:7, gRSV

"For we walk by faith, not by sight", 2 Co 5:7, RSV

since this is permanent I want to make sure it is completely correct.

Can I get your guys opinion on the above phrase and whether everything is spelled correctly?

Thanks again :)

Hi I am probably getting the tattoo this week and I was hoping someone can confirm the quote "walk by faith not by sight" not the direct quote from the bible but my second to last post. You guys have been a great help so far. Sorry about the poor formatting I am on a phone.

Cónaímid de réir creideamh , ní amharc. We live by faith, not by sight.

Does that look right to everyone? Spelling and grammar and translation?

once again thank you guys for your time :-)
