Hello everyone! The phrase I would like to get is:
"Blood and Honor in the veins of the Men of Fire"
Which leaves me with two questions:
1. I have read the "Fir Na Tine" does not mean Men of Fire the way we think it does. If that is correct, please help me out with what would correctly represent a fireman, or something relatively as profound.
2. You get the meaning of my phrase. Is there one already used that is similar?
Thank you in advance!
Matt

Fear tine was the oldtime fireman on the train. Fear dóiteáin is a firefighter.

As Beagle says.. The word, or words, we use in Irish for a fireman who puts out fires is fear dóiteáin. Fear tine is a stoker on a steam train, someone who shovels coal into a firebox. Fear na tine would to be my mind someone who takes care of a specific fire. I've seen this confusion with fear dlí as well, that is how we name a lawyer, not a lawman.
Fuil agus onóir sna féitheacha d'Fhir Dóiteáin. Blood and honour in the veins of Firemen.

Thank you both! That is great!
Are there any Irish Gaelic saying that apply to the fire service that you know of?
Thanks again!

You could ask on the "Irish Fire Services" website. They have a forum there.
