Greetings!
I would greatly appreciate some help translating the following quotation from Shakespeare's Measure for Measure:
Our doubts are traitors And make us lose the good we oft might win By failing to attempt
It's become something of a mantra for me over the last few years and I'm planning on having it tattooed on my person though, I'd rather it not be comprehensible to everyone that sees it. I'm Irish-Canadian, have been back to Ireland, where I back-packed for a while, have an Irish-language tattoo already, but my Irish isn't yet strong enough for me to feel comfortable translating entire phrases.
Thanks for the time and efforts of whoever helps me with this!
Cheers,
Steven

Here's my attempt, with the caveat that translating Shakespeare into any language is probably fruitless exercise. This is not trying to be poetic neither...
Is é ár n-amhras atá ina tréatúir a chuireann sinn ag cailleadh na maithe a bhainfimis ar chuma eile le failliú iarrachta air. Our doubt is the traitor that makes us lose the good we might otherwise win by foregoing an attempt on it.

Thanks, Gealún!
This is great. I realize that translating the ol' bard ain't easy.
We'll keep it going and see if people will continue to work on the translation a bit.
All best!
