I was browsing the web today and came across an interesting coat of arms for Williams with an Irish inscription:



Grásta Dé a bhfuil agamsa "The Grace of God is all I have"

Apparently it is a play on words: "a bhfuil agamsa" is pronounced a WILL-yam-suh in some dialects of Irish.

My question is: gealbhan is "sparrow" in Irish, but what is the word for a "pied wagtail"?

In English it is called a "Willie Wagtail"
You can also hear it called Glasóg Bhuaile in Irish.
Bhuaile being pronounced......yes you've guessed it!
