Dia daoibh!
Can someone tell me what 'ar mbeadh' and 'gach lá' means when you're referring to tenses. If you could provide examples that'd be great.

I am not sure that I totally understand the question but here are a few examples of usage. An té dá mbeadh grá agam - The person whom i would love. Dá mbeadh me ansin - If I were there. Gach lá dá mbim anseo - Everyday that I do be here. |

Dia daoibh!
If you could explain to me what 'dá mbeadh' means. Is this the 'conditional mood'? What exactly is the 'conditional mood'? Is the 'conditional mood' the same as the 'habitual present tense'? How come the 'habitual present tense' wouldn't be 'gach lá' (if I'm thinking right!), would that not make more sense? Is their an Irish word for the 'conditional mood', something like 'míochnú' or something? What do they mean when they say autonomous? Abair (Say) Inné: An ndúirt tú léi teacht ar ais? (Ní) Dúirt mé/tú/sé/sí (Ní) Dúramar (Ní) Dúirt sibh/siad Autonomous: Dúradh/Ní dúradh Gach lá: An ndeir tú leis teacht ar ais? (Ní) Deirim (Ní) Deir tú/sé/sí (Ní) Deirimid (Ní) Deir sibh/siad Autonomous: Deirtear/Ní deirtear Amárach: An ndéarfaidh sibh leis teacht ar ais? (Ní) Déanfaidh mé/tú/sé/sí (Ní) Déanfaimid (Ní) Déanfaidh sibh/siad Autonomous: Déarfar/Ní déarfar Dá mbeadh: An ndéarfá leis teacht ar ais? (Ní) Déanfainn/Déanfá (Ní) Déanfadh tú/sé/sí (Ní) Déanfaimis (Ní) Déanfadh sibh/siad Autonomous: Déarfaí/Ní déarfaí Buíochas do chuid ama, MrBonBons! |
