Dia dhuit!

I having trouble understanding this expression:
Is í ding di féin a scoileann an dair

I know "Is" is like the? Correct me if I'm wrong but the rest simply makes no sense to me :(

Can someone help me?

It's a wedge from itself that splits the oak.

"Is" is not like the?
At least I don't think it is...

Just noticed, it should be "scoilteann"
