I have four quotes that I want to choose from to get tattooed on my body. Please help me translate them! I was adopted and just found out where my family came from. I want something to remember it by! If someone could also tell me exactly what the word "truth" is in Irish Gaelic, I would be very appreciative. I may want to get the word tattooed small somewhere else on my body.

"If you tell the truth then you don't have to remember anything." - Mark Twain

"Truth is the most valuable thing we have." - Mark Twain

"Half a truth is often a great lie." - Benjamin Franklin

"There is nothing so strong or safe in an emergency of life as the simple truth." - Charles Dickens

Má dhéanann tú an fhírinne, mar sin níl ort ar aon rud a chuimhneamh
If you tell the truth then you don't have to remember anything.

Is é an fhírinne an rud is mórluachaigh a bhfuil againn
Truth is the most valuable thing we have.

Is bréag mhór é go minic leath na fírinne
Half a truth is often a great lie.

Níl aon rud chomh neart ná chomh sábháilte ar uair na práinne sa shaol ná an fhírinne shimplí
There is nothing so strong or safe in an emergency of life as the simple truth.
I'm still a learner, so be sure to get input from others, especially for tattoos.

Má dhéanann tú an fhírinne a rá, ní bhíonn ort cuimhne a bheith agat ar rud ar bith

Is í an fhírinne an rud is mórchúisigh* againn

Bréag mhór atá i leath na fírinne cuid mhór den am (Possibly a less clumsy wording)

Níl aon rud chomh neartmhar ná chomh sábháilte [color=#FF0000]i rith uair p(h here??)ráinne ((sa saol) I'd leave this out altogether) ná an fhírinne shimplí Just a few grammatical errors.

*The word used before tends to attached to money, my suggestion is possibly more suitable.

I am open to corrections on all my corrections/changes.

Wait for more.
Await confirmation always, please.

Thank you both for your help! I'll wait to get some more input since it's such a permanent thing. Gumbi, could would you mind re-writing the last quote exactly how you think it should go. It's just sort of confusing for me. Thank you guys again!

Má bhíonn an fhírinne id' bhéal agat ní ghá go mbeadh cuimhneamh ar d' aigne
If your mouth contains the truth, there is no need for remembering to be on your mind
("If you tell the truth then you don't have to remember anything.")

Má deireann tú an fhírinne ní ghá duit cuimhneamh ar faic-
(this is"If you tell the truth then you don't have to remember anything" translated literally, the translation above is the uniqually Irish way of expresssing the true meaning)

there is no h in má deireann, because this word is an exception to the rule!

"Truth is the most valuable thing we have."-
'Sí an fhírinne an rud is luachmhar dá bhfuil againn

"Half a truth is often a great lie."-
Is iomaí a bhíonn leath na fírinne, bréag ollmhór.

"There is nothing so strong or safe in an emergency of life as the simple truth"
Níl aon rud comh láidir/ neartmhar/ treise nó chomh sábháilte/ slánach in aimsir éigeandálach/ phráinneach an tsaoil ach an fhírinne.
