Hi, I have two meanings that I would like to be translated from English to Gaelic

Don't hit for your own sake.

Instead hit for someone else's sake, and risk your life to protect them.

Hit as in strike?

Ná tabhair buille ar do shon féin.

Ina ionad, tabhair buille ar son duine eile, agus téigh i bpriacal iad a chosaint

I'm not sure that using a plural pronoun with a singular noun (the so-called "singular 'they'") works in Irish. I'd use "é" rather than "iad."
