Maybe: Persevere = coinním, leanaim buan
Wait for others to add their 2 cents.

Yes, I looked them up in De Bhaldy. But Irish words can change a lot, depending on how they are use. Since I am a novice, please wait for others to add their thoughts.
It sounded like persevere might be another word choice for the way you are useing the word "push". Maybe a bit less ambiguous.

Thanks, I will wait for confirmation and I agree that persevere may be better.
Is coinneáil the same as coinním? Could I use either one with buan added after it? I would be using it for myself as a motivational word...

I asked my friend, who is a native speaker how he would say "perserve" as an imperative, to a single person. He gave me "bí righin". Wait for others to add their thoughts.
