I am writing an essay. I want to get this right, but I am unsure....

Which is the correct word for Banshee, is it bean sidhe or bean sí? I have seen both versions, is one plural perharps, or is one more modern?

I would be very grateful for any help.

as far as i know, both are acceptable, but 'bean sí' is just a more modern spelling. there was a spelling reform in irish that took out a lot of those extra letters, so 'sidhe' became 'sí'. they're both pronounced the same (as in the english)
