Ok, I know there are probably eyes rolling already.

I could go into the long story but ultimately, this is being used for a gimmick shirt for folks around us who only have passing interest in Gaeilge.

"They're always after me lucky charms" ... as Gaeilge le do thoil.

Our first stab at it was

Tá siad i gcónaí ag seilg mo briochtaí ádhúla ... close?

It's not correct, I'm afraid. While it's vaguely possible that folks found it off-putting (you didn't imagine the eye-rolling), I don't think that's why it hasn't had any response. This is a fast-moving forum, and it's more likely that folks just didn't notice it, or weren't quite sure what to do with it (I thought about taking a stab at it, most of the words I can think of in Irish for "charm" have more to do with rituals for warding off harm and the like...not the kind of "good luck" pieces this commercial intended).

In any case, if you keep an eye on this thread, and bump it back up by posting a reply to it when it looks like it will rotate off the page without resolution, I'm sure someone will give it a go.

I don't mean to do thread necromancy but would this be a good synthesis of the two above options? I like the saorbhriathar fine, just curious mainly.
