How's it going? My brother, sister, and I want to get tattoos saying "Family Forever" in gaelic. I have been reading several different things between your site and others. It seems like their are several different gaelic words for family. We would like it to mean our entire family (parents, grandparents, cousins etc.). Muintir seems to be the most appropriate word, however I read that it is almost too vague for family. I have also seen go brach and go deo used interchangeably. If you folks would be able to clarify the best way to get our meaning across we would greatly appreciate it. Cheers.

Muintir is a good choice for what you want. You can think of it as "the whole family reunion crowd". Given the context (as tattoo), it will be obvious that you're referring to your family. And yes, go deo and go brách are interchangeable, so you can use whichever you think looks nicest or sounds nicest.

I was thinking about getting this exact tattoo....are we 100% positive that this is the correct translation....haha the last thing that I want to do is get something permanent (and with so much meaning behind it) and have it be incorrect and then look like a dumb dumb
