Hey all,
Now, I quite like Elvis myself, but I heard Dáithí Ó Sé saying this, and I wondered about the use of mé féin:
Do you think what he's getting at is something like I myself am not a big Elvis fan? Or is it more an example of how in Irish, you can have a reflexive pronoun that doesn't necessarily have a reflexive meaning? For example, in Chonaic Eoghan agus mé féin an clár, mé féin isn't actually reflexive, it's just the way you say I in this kind of construction.
I know it's probably a minor detail, but I'm doing a very detailed study of Irish grammar the moment, so I just wanted to know how other people would interpret this!
