You've got a couple of problems with that third one. First, the word is "tá," not "té." Second, you can't use "tá" like that to say what something "is"...you need the copula. In this case, though, I wouldn't even use that, as it seems odd, even in English, to say that something "is" an adverb (there are a couple of adverb constructions that are used to modify nouns in Irish..."go hálainn," for example...but "go deo" isn't usually one of them) Mairfidh an grá go deo: Love will endure forever. That's how I would go on that one. Another option: Tá an grá síoraí: Love is eternal. In the fourth, not only is "Dílis" misspelled, but you've also lost a chance at parallel structure by using a noun in the first phrase and an adjective in the second. "Grá go deo, dílse go deo" (Love forever, loyalty forever) would work better here, IMHO. Sunnydaze, it might be more useful for you to come up with things you'd like to say and then have us translate them for you. Redwolf |
