I can see how you could search a few websites in 10 minues... but how did you manage to look in "books from various libraries"? Even if your house is surrounded on all sides by libraries, I would have thought it would take more than ten minutes to visit them. Or did you have the books already checked out just in case the subject came up? (In which case, I bet they're wayyyyyyyy overdue.)

Well, okay, the library next door & the books that I've got on Ireland in my house.
Wait for more people to confirm.

Just a random thought from a newbie to the site with zero translation skills. I'm pretty sure it's at least partially our (America's) fault for the major misconception that there is a connection between ancient Ireland and Wicca.
Unfortunately, we as a country can't seem to tell any pagan or neo-pagan religion apart, and therefore tend to treat Celtic crosses, Pentagrams, and Circles of Power all with equal disdain and trepidation. And since pretty much everyone who isn't Jewish or Muslim or Christian all gets lumped into the Pagan group, I think that a lot of people (even those who are early in their practices of whatever their chosen path) tend to assume that they all come from the same origin. Most people I know use Pagan and Wicca interchangeably and consider any teenager with black nail polish to be a pagan/witch.
Anyway, just ramblings from an irritated liberal thinker stuck in the shiny buckle of the Bible belt. But I thought it was marginally topical, given the subject.

It's the Wiccans that are confused about the connection...not the rest of us! Redwolf
