I was driving and it was my fault. I feel this is the only way that I can find some peace with what happened.

"By my hand I have led death. Spirit(singular) forgive me.

Trí mo lámh féin a tháinig an bás. Maith dom, a Spioraid
Death came through my hand. Forgive me o Spirit
I'm still a learner, so be sure to get input from others, especially for tattoos.

My heart goes out to you redwulf. I hope you find peace within yourself.

Kevin's translation looks good to me. (upper-case S in spioraid is a matter of choice).

kevin45sf's translation looks grand
Trí mo lámh féin a tháinig an bás. Maith dom, a Spioraid.

...just one small suggestion for the sake of choice:
Trí mo láimh féin a tháinig an bás. Tabhair maiteanas dom, a Spioraid.

I notice that the name 'redwulf' is awfully like the name 'Redwolf', and might and probably will be confused.
Redwolf is one of the foremost Irish language experts on this forum, and I hope you don't mind me bringing this similarity of her avator and yours to your attention.
My sincere sorrow to you on the loss of your son.
Three should agree on any translation.

Well I agree with this too. maiteanas has a couple of other versions and láimh with the i is my preferred translation although the dictionary suggests a move away from this traditional usage of the dative.

Thank you for the replies. What is the difference in the preferred translations?
