Literally, you could use:
Mair amhail is dá mbeafá ag fáil bháis but a usual recommendation on this forum is to use caith do shaol in lieu of mair, as in:: Caith do shaol amhail is dá mbeafá ag fáil bháis with caith do shaol literally meaning "spend your life", but sounding more natural in context. Less literally, but sounding even more natural, is the following, offered in another thread: Caith do shaol amhail is dá n-éagfá inniu Live as if you would die today Last edited by CaoimhínSF on August 27 2010, 17:07 PM, edited 3 times in total.
I'm still a learner, so be sure to get input from others, especially for tattoos.
