How would "relax" translate into Irish? I'm using it in the sense of: "Chill out, dude! Relax!"

Thanks!

Susan

Sort of "give it a rest" or "let [it/yourself] rest", and note that the "i" in scíth has a fada (accent).
I'm still a learner, so be sure to get input from others, especially for tattoos.

Is there a word or phrase that would mean "relax" literally -- as in "loosen your muscles"?

Thanks!

lig do scíth...let down your shield

Bogaigh...relax...bogaigh do mhatán..relax your muscle
Ba mhaith liom lámh chúnta a thabhairt d'éinne atá ag foghlaim agus ba mhaith liom déanamh amhlaidh mé fhéin.

Bogaigh -- That seems like exactly what I'm looking for.

Thanks!

Since scíth means tiredness or fatigue, I have trouble understanding Rossai's translation of let down your shield for lig do scíth.

Probably just a confusion with the word "Sciath", very similar.
Always wait for confirmation of my translations.
