Ireland is introducing new rules on immigration, including the need to pass a language and cultural test.
Under the constitution, would-be citizens will be able to take the language test for either the English or Irish languages.
The laws are aiming to copy UK laws, as always happens in Ireland.
It’s not yet clear if many people would make us of the Irish language test, but it may be a nice thing to do for a serious and interested learner who is also planning to move to Ireland.
