Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge spreading afar
Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (TEG) is currently a pilot project in Irish schools which emphasises the learning of language communication skills rather than the study of literature.
The scheme is now also being used to help adult learners in their path towards gaining fluency in Irish. In 2008, almost 500 adult learners sat the TEG exam.
Exams are already taking place in Ireland, Paris and Prague. Next month (April 2009) two new exam centres will open in New York and Cambridge universities.
